The RAW Anaesthesia Programme

The RAW Anaesthesia Programme is a 5 session teaching programme designed to further insight into anaesthesia as a career. Given that anaesthetics is the largest hospital specialty, it is essential that undergraduates are offered sufficient insight into a career in anaesthetics. The feedback we have received since starting the society emphasised a need to support individuals understanding of the role of an anaesthetist.

Anaesthetics is a vast specialty, thus ANTS decided to dedicate a programme which delivers insight into the life of an anaesthetist, from the perspective of anaesthetic trainees. The programme also provides information on academia in anaesthesia and the different anaesthetic sub-specialties

The aims of the programme are:

1. To develop an insight into anaesthesia as a career

2. Understand life as an anaesthetic trainee and their role in the clinical setting

3. Support and prepare individuals who are applying or considering applying for anaesthetic training

Dates for this academic year are TBC.
